Location: Los Angeles Convention Center, Los Angeles, CA
Fabrics Used: Acrylic Silver Beads
Fabrication Lead Time: 2 Weeks
Scope of Work
What greater venue than the Los Angeles Convention Center to host the biggest night in
Hollywood? This large, versatile space plays home to some of the most exciting exhibitions,
trade shows, and conferences each year. This year, the red carpet was rolled out to honor some
of film and television’s creative elite at the annual Academy of Arts & Scenes Emmys Governors
Ball.
Transforming this space requires hundreds of LA’s most talented and experienced event
professionals. A fleet of riggers, lighting and sound technicians, décor providers, and production
staff descend on the convention center, making it nearly unrecognizable within days. This year,
we were commissioned to create one of the largest beaded pieces of scenery to highlight the
bar and food station. This enormous, one-hundred-foot wide shimmering, swagged scenic
element was created using five individually suspended 20’W X 40’H sections. When lit, the
beads sparkled, creating an elegant waterfall-like effect that made the room come to life.
