Airbnb Deetz Residence Shroud
Project: Airbnb Deetz Residence Shroud
Location: Hillsborough Township, NJ
Fabrics Used: Black NuVoile Plus
Fabrication Lead Time: Two Weeks
Scope of Work
It’s showtime! It’s hard to believe that it was over 30 years ago when the first Beetlejuice movie was in theatres! To celebrate the release of the highly anticipated sequel, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, we were brought on to help recreate the iconic Deetz house in all its Tim Burton glory. This walk-through experience takes you through the many haunting spaces in the movie. From the attic to the afterlife waiting room for the recently deceased, guests were fully immersed in the artistically bizarre world of Beetlejuice.
The first experience guests encounter is the exterior of the Deetz house. Like in the new movie, the house was cloaked in a sheer black fabric to mourn the loss of Delia’s late husband, Charles. To recreate this memorable scene, we custom fabricated a series of Black Nuvoile Plus panels, each with their own specific size and shape, ensuring the fabric would contour to the design of this Victorian-era-inspired home. We cleared our fabrication floor, laying each section out at full size to ensure a perfect fit. Once all panels were completed, numbered, and shipped to the site, our team was there to oversee the smooth installation.
