Location: de Young Museum, San Francisco, CA
Fabrics Used: Printed NuVoile Plus
Fabrication Lead Time: 3 Weeks
Scope of Work
What better material than fabric to create this exhibition showcasing the works of some of the
20 th and 21 st century’s most prolific fashion designers? Fashion icons worldwide were featured,
including Christian Dior, Alexander McQueen, Karl Lagerfeld, Vivienne Westwood, Comme des
Garçons, Rodarte, and many more. Their garments were highlighted in displays made of printed
NuVoile Plus. A hot knifing technique was used on the fabric to create the arches, windows, and
doorways, producing clean lines for these translucent architectural-inspired vignettes.
